The Complete Path of Yoga: Eight Limbs
The Yoga You Were Never Taught — The Path, the Practice, the Purpose
Evon Hart, CYI 2003 | Founder
Sunday, February 1 • 1-5pm
$60
Most of what passes for “yoga” today is only a fraction of a profound, disciplined, eightfold system — and teaching only the fragment misleads students about what the practice actually is.
This workshop changes that. You’ll learn the Eight Limbs of Yoga as the unified path they are: direct, rigorous, life-shaping. The system of yoga clearly explained and immediately relevant to your life and practice.
Partner Yoga and Massage
Evon Hart - CYI 2003, Founder
Sunday, February 15 • 3-5pm
$50 per partnership
Yoga props help us experience poses in a new and deeper way, and another person is an excellent human prop! This workshop is a fun way to experience poses differently through the support and leverage that a friend or significant other can offer. In these times of disconnect and distraction, it’s even more special to turn off devices and be fully present with another person. Students will explore some familiar and possibly some new postures, and class will also incorporate some user-friendly massage techniques.
Sure, this class is a super special date experience with your loved one… AND… the workshop is not exclusively designed for romantic partnerships! Bring a friend, family member, ask a fellow student from our community or let us know if you want to attend and need a partner.

Find your light, and be the light that endures for all around you. You are not here to chase ships or shout into the storm, to convince waves to still themselves, or to make the wind remember your name. You are here to stand tall on sacred rock, rooted in truth, rising from stillness. You are the lighthouse. You do not move. You shine. You are not responsible for who anchors or who drifts. You are responsible only for the integrity of your own light. We can carry it brightly through our entire lives in a way that will inspire us and those around us to keep our hearts and minds open and curious.
In this workshop you will learn:
How to weave deep core strength into every posture
New insights about connecting your arms to your upper back
The safest way to increase flexibility in your spine
Fun and challenging work that will help with your balance

HIGHLIGHTED PAST EVENTS:
Krishna Das Kirtan
Community Yoga had the honor to host Krishna Das and band for two kirtan performances on May 8th and 9th, 2024 in Phoenix at the John Paul Theater, Phoenix College.
It was a magical couple of days. The shows were sold out and the rooms were full of love. Deep gratitude to everyone who made this event possible, from sound engineers to volunteers to KD’s management, band and of course KD himself. We are hoping for an encore in the not-too-distant future. Be sure to check out krishnadas.com.
Nina Rao
On the morning of Thursday, May 9th it was our sacred privilege to be led in Kirtan by Nina Rao at the Community Yoga studio. Nina has many gifts and talents, among them she is a member of Krishna Das’ band and has been his manager for decades. Without her guidance, the Phoenix shows wouldn’t have been such a success. We are forever grateful for the impact she made on our community.
